Introduction
Chikankari, a delicate hand embroidery, originated in the village of Chikan in Persia and found favor in the courts of the Mughal Empire, flourishing under the patronage of Noor Jehan. Today, deeply embedded in Lucknow’s cultural heritage, Chikankari continues to thrive. This labor-intensive craft, often involving up to 32 stitches, showcases the enduring craftsmanship passed down through generations. Celebrated for its aesthetic appeal and historical significance, Chikankari stands as a testament to the resilience and artistic brilliance of the artisans who have preserved this tradition over centuries
